Sun Bundles Marketing Launch

I've been working with Skin & Tonic Maui for a while now. Starting as a client, I got to know the boutique spa owner and respect her wealth of knowledge when it comes to holistic skin care. I would pick Kim's brain on skin care and overall health and over the years I gained some insight into Kim's business practices. Let me say this again, Kim is an AMAZING esthetician, I don't even question her recommendations anymore, I buy and do whatever she tells me is best for my skin because I value her expertise so highly. That said, Kim does not know marketing. She tries, but it takes a lot of her time with little payoff. It stresses her out thinking about social media strategy, she overthinks business goals and in the end there is not a lot of action. When asked to take over Skin & Tonic's social media accounts, I was skeptical as to how I would talk about facials 3-4 times per week on an ongoing basis, with attractive imagery and relevant content. Fast forward 1.5 years and I am still managing those accounts. Kim and I have both grown immensely in our business practices, I've started my own marketing company and she is celebrating five years as a small business owner.


WORKING TOGETHER

Working together is easier with common morals. Kim and I both care deeply about the planet, especially the health of our oceans. I appreciate her passion when it comes to protecting our coral reefs with her reef safe sunscreen products and her willingness to give back through events and fundraisers that benefit that cause.


THE IDEA

Among many creative ideas Kim has had in growing her spa to a larger wellness brand, she identified a need for Maui visitors to access curated, reef safe, eco conscious skin care products that would work for their unique skin and our unique environment here in Hawaii. With that simple, yet brilliant idea, she created 'Sun Bundles' by Skin & Tonic and reached out to me to help in launching the service.


THE PLAN

Now came the brainstorm...how do we reach Maui visitors before they get here and tell them about this great service that will have curated sun care products waiting at their vacation rental or hotel on arrival? With that goal in mind, I prepared a marketing launch plan that included:

1. Sun Bundles logo that visually displayed Kim's passion for eco conscious skin care

2. Blog on skinandtonicmaui.com to drive SEO and introduce the service

3. Short promotional video that clearly explains the values of this service

4. E Newsletter targeting concierge and vacation rental managers, incentivizing the service

5. Postcard for delivery to concierge and vacation rental managers

6. Social media posts on @skinandtonicmaui to utilize an existing audience

7. Online advertising through Google Ads and Facebook to introduce this unique service
